Service Description

René is a fully trained creative business mentor. She sits on mentoring panels with Queens University, Belfast, Future FoundationsNI, Design and Crafts Council Ireland and direct with individuals. René has over 25 years first hand successful creative industry experience coupled with a Masters degree in Arts Management from Queens University, Belfast. She is a selected directory member of Design Ireland (Dcci), a Visual Artist Ireland professional member and an artist member of Belfast Print Workshop. Her engaging, friendly and empathetic manner alongside a great ability to simplify and distil information make her sessions engaging, helpful and practical. As an artist, craftsperson, author and business partner, René has on the ground, lived experience to share with her mentees. She has worked in the visual arts sector for many years and can draw from that wealth of knowledge with ease; she has exhibited her work in both solo and group shows; been commissioned by arts and corporate venues to install permanent exhibition pieces; had a book published by Blackstaff Press; supplies several of Irelands best craft stores with her work on a wholesale basis, as well as selling direct to her customers both on and offline. Her work in running a busy and successful landscape architecture practice for over twenty years has also ensured a full working knowledge of all aspects of customer service, organisational management, marketing and tendering for work. René chaired Belfast Print Workshop for several years, has been a director on the board of Craft Northern Ireland, is currently a partner and creative director of mullin.ie her family landscape architecture practice, and runs her own successful printmaking studio placed.ie . Working across the visual arts throughout her creative career, beginning in a graphic design studio in Edinburgh and moving into architecture, craft, fine art, illustration and digital design, her career has spanned many areas, the knowledge and experience gained is invaluable.
